“It has been almost 3 months since Rex had a stroke on 2nd Mar. He was bedridden for almost 2 weeks. I was devastated over his recovery and the arrangement to take care of him.

It was until i checked out Petopia for their day care service before my husband and myself were able to leave home for work with a peace of mind.

The way Petopia manages the boarding is wonderful, seeing to all the details meticulously that will make Rex stays comfortably and emotionally happy.

This is probably the reason of his speedy recovery after a month.

The staff at Petopia are very professional especially the transport captain, Raj. He has been very patient whenever he picks Rex up. Despite Rex’s immobility, he will wags his tail non-stop once he sees Raj. He certainly enjoys his stay at Petopia.

We are so grateful to Petopia for such a good and positive experience.

Thank you !! ”

“For starters, my sincere, heartfelt thanks to the crew at Petopia.

No one does a better job than you guys, you guys are a Godsend as I now know that my babies have a found a place safe, clean, full of fun and love should I need to leave them away from home.

Petopia came to my attention whilst reading a copy of Mangosteen Club magazine one day, the article featured Petopia in all its unique glory in terms of standards in grooming, cleanliness, spa facilities from Japan and the founders’ dream of setting up a place where dogs meet, play and stay. Petopia started with a vision of bringing up the standards of dog care in Singapore to a whole new level.

I was impressed and decided to check this place out. A trip down to Petopia allowed me to meet the affable centre manager, Patricia. She very patiently answered all my concerns and questions regarding my babies as they have each very different personalities and for Whisky, this would be the very first time I am boarding her.

She even proceeded to bring me around the centre, at first sight I was impressed that the centre was extremely clean, smelt great with all the therapeutic aroma of lemongrass, a far cry from what I heard from a lot of dog owners about typical boarding places for dogs.

The excellent service of Petopia begins right from the time its centre’s driver, Mr Raj, picked my babies up to be sent for day care.

Raj was not at all guarded and apprehensive when he approached my 18 year-old girl, Brownie and even did not hesitate to give her a pat and helped her up into the van. This initiative impressed me at first sight as Brownie is a mongrel who is normally cautious of strangers. She responded very well to Raj and this put a load off my chest.

When the girls arrived at Petopia, the crew immediately proceeded to check my babies for ticks and this puts me at ease the most, as you know from this standard practice here, they will put the same amount of caution with other dogs admitting for boarding, after all, as fur parents, the last thing we want is a tick infestation in your home!!!! We all know how pesky, disgusting and potentially dangerous these parasites can be.

When they were cleared for the tick check, it was up to the boarding suites for them, it was clean, clean, and clean.

Dogs here are responsibly separated during play time according to size and temperament, so Whisky being friendly but shy with dogs was put together with the bouncy happy little fur kids and Brownie, being cautious in nature was put beside whisky’s area but separated by a gate.

A plus for the anxious, “never be too long away from your dogs” kind of parent, is the availability of a web-cam to see what your babies are doing anytime you miss them too much!!!

My babies are the best judges of how great a place is Petopia.

They were able to understand and love my elderly, charismatic Brownie. She has always been given screams from people as she is a big dog; some grooming places have even turned her down as she has some aggressive traits. I can only say she returned home sleepy, happy and she displayed signs that she really did enjoyed Petopia very much. She was running around the shop when we were about to return home with her tail wagging occasionally, I know this is a clear sign that she was happy as she would normally dart right for the front door when it is time to go home from the vets!

Whisky, my 3 year old toy poodle enjoyed herself as well, though a little shy around dogs, the crew encouraged her to play and gave her hugs whenever she was afraid. I am thankful for the attention given to her as I know that Whisky is a girl which requires a lot of human affirmation.

Finally a place where I can put my heart at ease, finally a place where people are gonna take care of my babies as if they were their own, finally a place where I know the girls will not pick up any parasites and most importantly, finally a place where my girls would be able to enjoy themselves, forget that lonely feeling and have friends to brighten their day.

Thank you Petopia!!”

“Dear Petopia,

I am SO THANKFUL that my vet recommended you as a wonderful place to leave my puppy when I went away. I was told that Coco wouldn’t even want to come home, because she would be having such a great time, and while she was happy to come home, she certainly came home happier and healthier than when she left me.

I was impressed by your facilities. The genuine care and concern expressed by your staff made me feel immediately at ease, and I was able to enjoy my vacation, every time I went away.

As you know, Coco was very ill in the first few weeks of being with us. It is due to you that she did so well and has come along way since March last year. Your care of her went way beyond my expectations.

It saddened my heart that we had to leave Singapore, but if we ever move back, you will be our first port of call”

“Two years ago, my family and I decided to go on a vacation.

However, it was the time when we just included Maki into our household and we were unsure where to find a suitable pet hotel for him.

Fortunately, I got to know Petopia through an advertisement and decided to take Maki with me to have a look at the environment. Since Maki was rather afraid to interact with other dogs, I was extremely surprised when I saw how comfortable he was after just a moment of getting used to the place. Thus, I decided to leave Maki under Petopia’s care.

When Maki returned from the hotel, he was in good condition and I was relieved when I heard that Maki was actually able to interact normally with other dogs. Since then, my family and I have always felt assured when we leave Maki at Petopia as we are aware of how well our pet is being taken care of.

Just recently, when Maki came back from Petopia, I realised that he became more stout and healthy looking.

After calling Petopia to ask how Maki achieved such tip top condition, I get to know that Petopia actually puts into place programs to help socialise dogs, so that even dogs as timid and reticent as Maki could benefit from social interaction.

The staff at Petopia, I learnt, are also committed to interacting with the animals daily.

Maki looks very healthy and happy, and it is as though Petopia has provided him with a home away from home, while we were on vacation.

Thank you, Petopia!”

“We checked Evan in for 5 nights’ stay at Petopia from 29/11 – 4/12/12.

Evan, our Greyhound was lucky enough to be amongst the first batch of hotel guests to experience the spa-like ambience of Kloud 9 on the newly renovated upper level. He was allocated to a spacious suite large enough to accommodate his 40″ Kuranda bed with plenty of space left to roam around.

Previously Evan had been to Petopia for day care, but this was his first time staying overnight away from home. Anticipating some signs of separation anxiety from him (and actually me too), I requested to visit him during dinner time. I was very warmly welcomed by their evening staff who was there for the closing shift. Although he was already doing his rounds and final checks on the guests, he allowed me to come in to try coaxing Evan to eat even though it meant having to end his shift later. He also took the chance to double check with me if there were any special requirements that he should take note of during Evan’s stay.

Over the course of the next few days, we logged on at various times of the day to check on him. Usually we would find him either playing with other dogs, or blissfully lying down being stroked and cuddled by the loving, affectionate members of your staff, especially Ailing.

We’d like to take the opportunity to thank Richard and Marcus and everyone from the Petopia team for accommodating our requests and taking such good care of our puppy. Especially to Jerico, Timothy, Ailing, Shauna, Kumiko and last but not least Calina, for your patience in bringing us through the orientation and for communicating our instructions so well amongst your colleagues.

We are very pleased with the level of service at Petopia and feel comfortable enough to board Evan again with you for our 19 day honeymoon to France in Feb 2013! ”

“Our family had to make an overseas trip during the first week of December 2012 and the search for a reputable pet potel to accommodate Pixar began one month before. Many of my friends recommended Petopia and I remembered one of them mentioning that, at Petopia the staff actually plays classical music for their guests, and at that point I replied that Pixar prefers S.H.E…

I made an appointment to go down to Petopia for viewing a couple of days later, because I needed to be sure that Pixar would be in good hands during the days when we were away. I was impressed with the facilities available and even more so with the staff. I can tell everyone who works there is passionate about their job and is genuinely concern with the guests they are taking care of.

During Pixar’s stay at Petopia, I was glad to be able to watch him 24 hours via the Webcam. And what a joy to see him playing with the rest of the fur kids, and having a piece of mind that Pixar is safe ‘to roam’ as all the necessary scanning and precautions were done by the staff beforehand.

So Thank You Team Petopia for showering Pixar with lots of Love, Attention and Belly Rubs. I am pretty sure this little rascal enjoyed his stay there, as just before we left, he actually ran back to the play area, maybe to bid his new found friends ‘goodbye’ and to tell them ’see you real soon’.”

“Benji, our 12 year old Silky terrier, stayed with Petopia recently in November when we went for our holiday.

This was actually not the first time that Benji has stayed with Petopia during our holiday trips.

My Benji is a special case as he is a blind dog.

Given that age has caught up with Benji, his sense of smell and hearing have deteriorated over the recent years.

Given his insecure nature now due to his diminished abilities, he no longer can mix around with other dogs.

Furthermore, he has a mild liver condition whereby he can only feed on vet prescribed food and not others.

My previous experiences with other boarding places for Benji often resulted in him coming back with rash all over his body and even diarrhea and the most serious case was when he has to be admitted and be put on drips as his diarrhea had caused him to suffer from dehydration!

When I read about Petopia in the magazines, I made my way down and was very impressed with the professionalism and the friendliness that the staff in Petopia had given me.

I thought why not give it a try since it’s new and they really did convinced me that although Benji is blind and old, there will not be discrimination over his disability and all the care and attention will still be provided.

I was actually right as the day when Benji came back from his stay with Petopia, he did not suffer from any rash or any other illness that he had previously suffered from all those previous boarding places that he had stayed!

Benji came back a very happy dog and always wagging his tail and from his look I can tell that he actually enjoyed his stay with Petopia.

Subsequent stays and grooming sessions will always see him wagging his tail when Richard or his team comes to pick him up.

Thank you Petopia (especially to Richard and his hotel staff) for ensuring that all care and attention is provided even if our fur companion has any disability.

I would definitely not hesitate to recommend Petopia to all my friends with fur companions.

Thank you and with fur regards”

“Petopia is the best pet hotel I have come across in Singapore.

When I first visited Petopia to check them out, I was pleasantly surprised to find such a cosy and friendly environment. The staff are helpful and friendly, the place itself is clean and the scent of essential oils covered the usual odour in all other pet hotels.

I remembered someone saying that it is like the “St Regis” in the pet hotel industry. I knew I have found a wonderful place for my two little ones, Toby and Lucky.

During their first stay there about three weeks, they were in good hands and I could even go online to check on them all the time through their webcam. I could see that the two of them were very happy there.

Sometime along this year, both of them caught ticks from our condo premises and we had to put them up at Petopia again while we cleaned up the tick situation at home.

While our regular groomer was too afraid to take them, Marcus and Richard were so helpful in giving me advice on how to handle the tick situation at home and also tending to their tick condition.

Toby and Luck went on to stay at Petopia for two months. Again, I could see that they were very happy at Petopia. Toby has gotten along so well with the staff there that he will run to them even during our visits there.

As for Lucky, who was a very old dog (14-years old) with multiple medical complications and was immobile, we really thanked Marcus for introducing her to the moxibustion treatment.

Through his gentle massages and the treatment, we could see Lucky’s situation improving and how happy she was.

Lucky passed away peacefully during her stay there and once again, we were very thankful to how well Petopia managed the arrangements for her cremation. It took a lot of stress off us and helped us to cope with the departure better too.

In conclusion, I feel that Petopia has really gone beyond our expectations of a regular groomer and pet hotel service provider.

They have demonstrated a great passion for what they are doing and had shown a sincere love for animals in the ways they cared for all the pets in their care.

To customers, they make every effort to keep us informed of our pet’s condition as they really understood our love for our little ones. These details really give us peace of mind when we could not take care of them ourselves. They truly try to understand and meet the needs of the pets in their care and also the pet owners.

Personally, I enjoyed all my visits to Petopia. The staff there are all so warm, so friendly and they have all become like friends to me. I would recommend anyone with pets to send their pets to Petopia as they will be in great hands.”
